(Nasdaq: CADX) announced that it has submitted a New Drug Application (NDA) to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its investigational product candidate, Acetavance(TM) (intravenous acetaminophen), for the treatment of acute pain and fever in adults and children. If approved, Acetavance would become the first new intravenous analgesic approved in the United States in more than 20 years and the only approved intravenous agent for the treatment of fever in the United States.
"In addition, excessive consumption of any kind of cola can lead to a range of health problems including fatigue, loss of productivity and muscular symptoms that vary from mild weakness to profound paralysis," added Elisaf, saying that further studies should now be done to decide what is too much when it comes to cola drinking.
A research article published on May 7, 2009 in the World Journal of Gastroenterology addresses this question. In fact, Carl Schimanski and colleagues report that miR-196a supports tumour cell detachment and tumour cell dissemination in vitro via activation of the AKT pathway. In order to confirm these experiments, they performed animal studies with immune suppressed mice which received a tail vein injection of human tumour cells.
